Objective:To study the correlation between right-to-left shunt (RLS) and white matter lesions (WML) in patients with migraine. Methods:152 patients who were diagnosed as migraine and met the inclusion criteria were selected from the neurology clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Hebei North University from September 2020 to November 2021. The general data of patients were recorded and the migraine scale was registered. All patients were examined by contrastenhanced transcranial Doppler (c-TCD) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). According to the results of cranial MRI,the patients were divided into WML+ group and WML- group. Spss25.0 software package for statistical analysis to check whether there is correlation between RLS and WML. Results:There were 50 cases of RLS(+) in WML+ group and 25 cases of RLS(+) in WML group. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant( χ2 = 4.016,P = 0.045).The scores of white matter lesions in different grades of right-to-left shunt were statistically significant (Rho=0.208,P=0.010). Conclusion:The incidence of WML in migraine patients is related to RLS. The higher RLS level is,the more serious WML is.
