Clk1，a mitochondrial enzyme involved in coenzyme Q biosynthesis，plays an role in the aging process. It was found that the loss of Clk1/Mclk1 gene could lead to prolonging the life span of nematodes and mice，but the specific mechanism was not clear. In this review，we summarized and discussed the function of Clk1 gene in organism.
