A large number of studies suggest that plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2（Lp-PLA2）， as a new inflammation factor，plays a role in the development of atherosclerosis， and it is a independent risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. This review summarizes the relationship between Lp-PLA2 and the ischemic stroke.
