A large number of studies suggest that plasma lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2), as a new inflammation factor, plays a role in the development of atherosclerosis, and it is a independent risk factor for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. This review summarizes the relationship between Lp-PLA2 and the ischemic stroke.
